Extreme foodie dines in BA

Wednesday was a big night for one Buenos Aires restaurant when extreme foodie Jeffrey Merrihue from the Foodie Hub blog flew into town for 12 hours and 40 minutes: I was his lucky dinner date. Jeffrey prides himself on visiting every establishment that features on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list each year, and, given Tegui’s debut on the 2017 list last month, Germán Martitegui’s Palermo Hollywood establishment was on his hit list.

While it was a flying visit — his Wednesday night flight took him to Mexico City for lunch at Pujol — Jeffrey’s more than used to dining on the hop. His verdict? “Tegui is a noble endeavour (that) elevates Argentine ingredients to celebrity status — the chef at Tegui should get at least the same respect as Messi.”
